nanoBridge funds projects in intake intervals that start with an open call for proposals and finish with project pre-approval decisions. Applicants prepare proposals using the online application system and upon completion, submit the proposal to nanoBridge by the published deadline. nanoBridge staff screen the proposal for completeness and eligibility before forwarding them on to the nanoBridge proposal evaluation committee.
Each committee member completes an independent review of each proposal and submits an evaluation form. Individual evaluation results are consolidated in summary tables in preparation for the final assessment and recommendation meeting. Funding recommendations are forwarded to the Chair of the nanoBridge advisory board for pre-approval. After pre-approval nanoBridge staff work with the successful applicant and their organization to complete a nanoBridge Research Contract.
Project funding ranges from $50,000 to $75,000 for proof of concept prototypes, up to $150,000 for alpha prototypes and up to $225,000 for beta prototypes. The goal is to have pre-approval decisions within 90 days of the interval submission due date based on an intake of approximately 30 proposals. In the event that the number of proposals exceed this number, a screening process will select a short list of proposals in order to maintain a 90 day decision cycle. Those proposals that do not make it through the initial screen can be submitted in the next interval.
Deadline: January 10, 2014 @ 11:59 pm
Interested applicants are encouraged to contact nanoBridge at firstname.lastname@example.org before starting an application to ensure their proposed project is eligible and to clarify any questions they have on the process.
